Welcome to the Hassocks Field Society
THE HASSOCKS FIELD SOCIETY aims to encourage interest in the countryside and care for the environment through a program of talks, walks, coach outings and fundraising coffee mornings.
We have a program of Monday evening meetings with speakers, twice a month from September to April. Talks cover all aspects of wildlife and countryside. Also local history, travel and places of interest in and around Sussex.
Occasional coach outings are organised for members, visiting National Trust properties, gardens, historical sites and places of other interest.
We enjoy exploring our beautiful countryside. Two programs of local walks are arranged for the energetic and the not so energetic. Wednesday walkers walk up to five miles weekly, while the Thursday ramblers take their fortnightly walks at a slower pace covering about three miles.
Two coffee mornings are arranged each year, providing an opportunity for members to meet and socialise, while at the same time raising funds for a relevant local charity or project.
